Hey everyone! I'm having some trouble with my game's performance and I think it might be time for an upgrade. I want to improve my FPS without breaking the bank, so I'm looking to spend a maximum of $500 on a new CPU. Here are my current PC specs for context:
- **Operating System**: Windows 11 Home 64-bit
- **Motherboard**: Acer Nitro N50-600 (DCH) (U3E1) – Intel B360 chipset
- **Current CPU**: Intel Core i5-9400F @ 2.90GHz (6 cores, no hyper-threading, Coffee Lake, LGA 1151)
- **CPU Temp**: ~77°C under load
- **RAM**: 16GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1064MHz (2133MHz effective)
- **GPU**: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB (Sapphire/PCPartner)
- **GPU Temp**: ~81°C under load
Thanks for any help you can give!

Before you dive into an upgrade, maybe consider if your CPU is really the bottleneck. What games are you trying to play? Sometimes, it might be beneficial to upgrade your GPU instead if you’re aiming for serious performance improvements. Just a thought!
I get what you're saying, but my friends tell me the CPU is where I’m lacking the most. I primarily play League, PUBG, and I'm looking to tackle heavier games like Witcher 3 and Hogwarts Legacy. What would you suggest for upgrades in my budget?
