Hey everyone! I'm trying to upgrade the processor in my Toshiba Satellite Pro R850-15F laptop. To get to the processor, I need to take out the SSD, but it's stuck and won't budge no matter how hard I pull. This laptop didn't come with a caddy for the SSD since it was purchased refurbished, so I'm not sure what to do next. Any insight or tips would be awesome. Thanks for taking a look!

It could be double-sided tape that's keeping it stuck in there. Those things can be really tricky sometimes!
Quick note: upgrading a laptop CPU generally isn't recommended since most CPUs are soldered to the motherboard. However, if you’ve got a rare model with a socketed CPU, it may be possible, but be cautious! Upgrading can lead to overheating issues due to poor thermal performance in laptops, plus you need to ensure compatibility with your motherboard and RAM. If your new CPU uses more power than the previous one, it might not work at all. Given that your laptop is about 15 years old, this might not be the best investment!
Normally, that SSD should just slide to the left to disconnect from the SATA connector. If it's not moving, it might be stuck due to some adhesive or there could be screws holding it in from underneath. Definitely check for that!
I don't think there’s anything under it, but who knows? When I press down, I can hear a sort of squashing noise, so maybe there are foam pads or something keeping it in place?
