Hey everyone! I'm new to building PCs and I'm running an RTX 3070 with an i5 12400F. I've been experiencing some pretty bad performance dips in CPU-heavy games like Helldivers 2. Right now, my RAM speed is 2400 MHz, and I'm wondering if upgrading to 3200 MHz will significantly improve performance, or is it not worth it? Thanks!

You might be able to overclock your RAM to 3200 MHz if you haven't done that yet. What's the model of your current RAM sticks?
Upgrading your RAM could help, but it really depends on what's being maxed out during gameplay. Check your Task Manager to see if your CPU or RAM is hitting 90-100% usage. That'll give you a clearer picture of what's going on.
Definitely check your usage stats. Sometimes it's the VRAM that's the bottleneck, especially since the 3070 only has 8GB.
When I play Helldivers 2, I notice my CPU and GPU both run around 70% usage.
Switching from 2400 MHz to 3200 MHz gives you a nice 33% speed boost. You might see a 10-20% performance increase in games. I experienced something similar when I overclocked my RAM to 3000 MHz. But remember, Helldivers is really CPU-intensive, and the 12400F is on the lower end, so upgrading your CPU might also help.
I managed to overclock them to 3200 in the BIOS, but does that perform like having two sticks of 3200 MHz RAM?
