I'm considering whether it's worth spending over double the price for QD-OLED monitors versus going for an IPS display. I usually game for about 5-7 hours on weekends, and I might have less time during the school week. I want my investment to last, and I'm aware of the burn-in and dead pixel issues that can come with OLEDs, though I plan to care for them properly. I'm looking at the MSI mpg 271qrx priced at $750, but the KTC H27E6 IPS monitor is much cheaper at $300. What do you all think?

When it comes to eye strain and overall viewing experience, OLED is a game-changer. The specs justify the price; even the budget OLEDs have high refresh rates. The newer OLEDs have significantly improved with burn-in issues too. I think most people find them reliable, especially considering their performance in devices like iPhones. They’ve been mainstream for a while now with minimal complaints!
Absolutely worth it! I’ve shared my own experience with it on other forums, but once you switch to OLED, it’s hard to go back to any other type. They really shine in both gaming and movie-watching.
What monitor do you use?
