Why can’t I send text messages to my parents’ Android phones anymore?

I've been using my iPhone to send messages to my parents who have Android phones without any issues. Recently, though, I sent a text to my mom and it appeared to send just fine, but she never received it. I tried the same with my dad, and he didn't get it either. It's odd because my sister, who also has an iPhone, can message them without a problem. I've already done a soft reset on my phone, but it hasn't helped. Any suggestions on what else I can do?

Have your parents try rebooting their phones if they haven’t done that yet. Sometimes a quick restart can fix weird issues like this.

Don't forget to check for any software updates on your iPhone. Sometimes just updating to the latest iOS can resolve these message issues.

You might want to consider using WhatsApp or another messaging app instead. It's a good alternative and works across different platforms. Just be mindful of data privacy since it's owned by Meta.

Make sure you’re sending SMS texts and not iMessages. I had a similar situation where my Android number wasn’t connected to iMessage properly, and sometimes, family would message me through my Apple ID email instead. Double-check how you’re sending the messages!
