What Should I Do About My GPU Running at 100% After Using LM Studio?

So I've been having some issues with my DeepCool setup. It doesn't open on startup, so I manually start it. Recently, while browsing the net, I noticed my GPU usage was constantly at 100%. I asked an AI about it, and it suggested that I might have malware. I recently installed LM Studio and downloaded two models, Qwen and Gemma, but my specs can't handle Gemma, which is why the GPU load was maxed out and progress was super slow with that model. After I closed LM Studio, the GPU load stayed at 100%, so I opened Task Manager to find out why. Interestingly, the GPU usage dropped whenever Task Manager was open. I then restarted my computer to see if that would help, but the GPU went back to 100% after a few minutes. When I asked the AI again, it hinted at possible malware. It suggested I disconnect from the internet, which resulted in a drop in GPU usage after a minute or two. I was panicking and ended up doing a clean format through CMD before reinstalling Windows. Now, I believe my PC is clean, but I'm hesitant to install LM Studio again, fearing it might be the cause of my problems. Also, I've noticed some weird behavior like frequent internet disconnections (I think it might be a cable issue). I'm looking for ways to prevent this from happening again and possible solutions if it does.

Honestly, if Task Manager opening seems to lower GPU usage, that raises some eyebrows. It might be worth completely uninstalling LM Studio and seeing if that alleviates the problem. Be cautious with reinstalling anything until you're sure it’s safe. You should also run a full malware scan just to be safe. And check your internet cable too, since disconnections can lead to weird behavior in applications.

It sounds like there's a lot going on with your setup, but let's tackle it step-by-step. First off, those GPU issues could be driver-related rather than malware. So, I'd recommend checking for driver updates or reinstalling your GPU drivers altogether. It's really common for apps like LM Studio to max out your GPU when running intensive models, but if your usage stays at 100% after closing the app, that's definitely worth investigating further.
