Hey everyone! I'm not super tech-savvy, so I hope this isn't a silly question. I've been generating videos using AI, and it takes about 1.5 hours to create just 5 seconds of video. Since I want to run the generation for 12 hours while I'm at work or sleeping, I'm concerned about my PC. I have an RTX 4060 Ti, and it's running at 100% utilization with a temperature of 70°C. Is there a real risk of my PC catching fire while it's working so hard?

You really don’t have to worry about it catching fire. It might shut down or wear out over time, but it’s pretty unlikely to go up in flames. Just keep an eye on things and maybe consider a smoke detector if you’re concerned.
If generating 5 seconds of video takes over an hour, maybe look into upgrading your setup or software like ChatGPT Plus to speed things up. It might save your PC from that constant high load.
There is a theoretical risk, especially with older GPUs, but with your RTX 4060 Ti, you should be okay. Just make sure you have a good power supply unit (PSU) that can handle the load. It’s smarter to set up a smoke detector when doing heavy tasks overnight.
Yes, your PC can catch fire if the PSU is old and not handling the load properly. But as long as you have a quality PSU, you should be fine. It might also help to keep a camera on it while you’re away, just for peace of mind.
I’ve been running my PC at full power 24/7 and have had no issues at all. As long as your cooling is adequate and your components are reliable, it should be fine.
Haha, good tips!
