Hey everyone! I'm 17 and have lived without social media my whole life, but now I want to start sharing my work as a cinematographer and freelance video editor. The issue is that my parents won't let me have social media until I'm 18, which isn't for another 10 months. I really want to start now, so I'm thinking of secretly downloading some apps. I have an iPhone 11 and checked for any monitoring apps or parental controls, and it seems like there's nothing unusual on there. However, I'm still worried because in the past, they could tell when I downloaded new apps. How can I check if they are still getting notifications? Any tech advice would be great! Thanks!

Go into your Settings and look at the Screen Time section. If the content restrictions can't be changed, then they might be monitoring your phone. Make sure your Apple account is yours and not linked to theirs.
First off, check your phone settings to ensure it's not linked to a family account or any other device. You might have already done this, but it's worth double-checking!
I can actually adjust my own content restrictions, which is a good sign!
