Why Am I Getting Random BSODs with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Error?

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my PC last month, and ever since early June, I've been dealing with random Blue Screens of Death (BSOD) that show the error code "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL." I've updated my drivers (even after finding one missing) and scanned my RAM, which showed no issues. I've also tried some console commands to fix things, but my PC still crashed just an hour ago while I was doing nothing special. I tried using Bluescreenview, but I'm unsure what to make of it. I found some information online suggesting unauthorized memory usage, but I really want to avoid wiping my system if possible. Help! Also, I have a folder with DMP error files if that helps.

To get a better grasp on those BSODs, you really need to look at the dump files, which are crash logs generated during those errors. If your PC is booting fine, try navigating to C:WindowsMinidump to find those files. Zip that folder and upload it to a file-sharing site like mediafire or catbox.moe so we can analyze them better. If there aren’t enough files there, check out this guide on setting up Windows to create Small Memory Dumps—helps us a lot in identifying the problems!

Got it! I’ll check for the dump files and see what I find. Thanks for the tip!

First off, make sure your BIOS isn't giving you any trouble. If everything looks okay in the BIOS settings, I suggest updating it to the latest version from MSI's site. After that, grab the latest AMD Chipset Drivers specifically for your motherboard. Just make sure to only download the Chipset Driver from the AMD site, as the others can be a bit troublesome for some systems. This might help stabilize things and reduce those crashes!

Thanks for that! I’ll look into the BIOS update. It's from 2020, so maybe a newer version will help. Just a bit worried about messing it up!
