Need Advice on Upgrading My CPU, Motherboard, and PSU

I'm looking to upgrade my gaming setup and could use some advice. Here are my current specs: Intel i5 10400f, RTX 3060ti, 32GB RAM, Asrock Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard, 2TB NVMe SSD, and a Coolermaster MWE 650W Bronze V2 power supply. My PSU is starting to show its age after 4.5 years, and I keep experiencing auto reboots while gaming, making me think it can't handle the power demands anymore. I'm planning to buy a new PSU and upgrade my CPU since I've been bottlenecked in modern games. I'm considering the Ryzen 7 5700x, but I need help with compatibility regarding the motherboard and PSU. Can anyone help me out?

That's interesting about the bottleneck; I have a 6th gen Intel too, and it doesn’t struggle in most cases. Just to check, are you experiencing issues because of your GPU driver? Also, keep an eye on your GPU and CPU temperatures. Your 650W PSU should be sufficient, but rebooting problems could also stem from overheating. Just some thoughts!

Hey, I appreciate the feedback! The auto rebooting just started recently, and my temperatures seem fine; GPU peaks at 83, CPU at 75. I’m quite certain I've got a bottleneck because while exploring CPU-heavy areas in games like RDR2, I'm barely hitting 60 FPS. It's definitely time for an upgrade!

It sounds like you’ve got a plan, but first off, the Ryzen 7 5700x won’t work with your current Intel motherboard. Intel and AMD are not interchangeable, so you'll need to pick up a new motherboard that supports the Ryzen CPU. You can use PCPartPicker to check compatibility! Also, have you considered cleaning your system and applying new thermal paste? It might help with your CPU performance and overheating issues.
