Best Ways to Purchase Microsoft Office and What to Consider

Hey everyone! I just got my first PC and I realized that Microsoft Office programs don't come pre-installed with Windows. I need Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive. I've been looking online and there are tons of options, but I'm confused about which to choose. If I buy an online key for the Office programs, do I get to keep them forever? Also, does it matter if the key is for an older version? I found a deal on a site that has good reviews, but I want to make sure it's legit. Here's the link to the offer I'm considering: https://softwaresupply.net/product/microsoft-office-365-personal-pc-mac-tablet-1-device/?utm_source=Google+Shopping&utm_campaign=Copy+Google2&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=5594&src=shpEUROPE271&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22718413840&gclid=CjwKCAjwvO7CBhAqEiwA9q2YJbkHdKtQGCKZE0Ui0JzupuuiGN-KsGGy-2mzVfgqzBLxQ0GJh6ETORoCtdQQAvD_BwE&wmc-currency=USD. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you're looking for alternatives, consider using LibreOffice. It's free, open-source, and works great as a substitute for Microsoft Office. If you do want to stick with Microsoft, be aware that they primarily push Office 365 as a subscription. Just make sure to double-check what’s included if you go that route!

Check out the official Microsoft Store for options like Office Home 2024. It lets you pay once for a perpetual license, but keep in mind it won't include regular feature updates—just the security patches for a few years. Here’s a link: [Microsoft Office Home 2024](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/office-home-2024/cfq7ttc0pqvj?msockid=1a0893598e0764b2322887888f156548). That might meet your needs better!

FYI, the deal you found might not be genuine. There's no legit single-device perpetual license for Office 365. You can either do a subscription for multiple devices or buy a one-time Office version like Office 2024. The latter will get limited updates.

As a developer, there’s a program that lets you apply for Microsoft Office for free, provided you use it for development purposes. Otherwise, subscriptions are typically the way to go if you want consistent access and updates.
