Looking for Recommendations on White-Label AI Chatbots for Client Projects

Hey everyone! I'm reaching out for some guidance on AI chatbots for a client project. We're currently wrapping up a website build and the client has requested a chatbot widget for answering questions and capturing leads. Ideally, I'm looking for a solution that's robust and reliable without needing to host the AI processing on our own servers. I'm experienced with tech stuff and have built a proof-of-concept chatbot using Google Gemini and the Vercel AI SDK, but I want something production-ready.

We're big users of n8n for our internal tasks, but I'm a bit skeptical about using it for a client-facing bot due to concerns about quality. If anyone's had success with n8n for a chatbot, I'd love to hear about it!

We're exploring third-party options too, specifically ones that can be white-label since the client wants no third-party branding. I estimate they'll handle about 5,000 messages monthly. I'd appreciate your recommendations on the best chatbot widgets for agency work, what you personally use, and what kind of costs I should expect for a white-label solution with that message volume. Looking forward to your insights. Thanks!

For white-label chatbots, I recommend checking out options like Landbot, Tars, or Crisp. They offer solid customization without heavy backend management worries. If you need something more API-driven, Kommunicate or Botpress could work, though they might require a bit more setup. For a use case of around 5,000 messages/month, you can expect costs ranging from $50 to a few hundred dollars, depending on features and support. I think using n8n for internal workflows is neat, but for client-facing bots, a dedicated platform might feel more polished.
