Hey everyone! I'm trying to reinstall Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool. I opted to download the setup.exe from the ISO file, but here's the problem: the ISO file won't mount properly. I can open it with 7-Zip, but when I try to run setup.exe, I get an error stating that Autorun.dll could not be loaded or is corrupt (error code 0x7E). Can anyone suggest some solutions?

Just to clarify, are you trying to install Windows while still running your previous version? If you extract the setup.exe and run it without properly mounting the ISO, it could lead to errors. If you have a second PC or a working environment, consider trying to create a bootable USB or DVD directly from the ISO and then use that for the installation. It's usually smoother that way!
It seems like trying to install Windows from a non-mounted ISO might be causing the issue. Instead of extracting with 7-Zip, you should try using a tool like Rufus to create a bootable USB drive directly from the ISO file. This should bypass the need to mount it and get rid of that Autorun.dll error. Give it a shot!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll try creating a bootable USB instead. Just to let you know, I haven’t done this before, so any guidance is super appreciated.
