Why Did My Fortnite FPS Drop After Downloading Medal?

Hey everyone! I recently downloaded an app called Medal while playing Fortnite, and I've noticed that my FPS has dropped significantly, between 20 to 50 frames. I'm curious if installing more apps can actually affect FPS, and if uninstalling something like GTA 5 would help me get my FPS back. Any insights on this?

It's possible that your disk is running low on space, which can definitely impact performance. You might want to consider cleaning up some storage, applying thermal paste if needed, or even upgrading your hardware if it's really bad. It's worth looking into these options!

It does affect performance— I checked and found that storage issues can really slow things down.

Actually, uninstalling games like GTA 5 won't directly affect your FPS. Instead, check your Task Manager to see if there's anything else running in the background that's hogging your resources. That could be the culprit behind your lower FPS.

The only app I have running besides Fortnite is Medal, but that could be the issue.

From what I've heard, Medal can really drag down FPS. A buddy of mine had similar issues with it while playing another game. There are tons of threads online about this problem, and it seems like there isn't a solid fix for it yet.

If your disk space is nearly full, it can definitely cause performance issues. Clearing some space, like by deleting GTA 5, might help you regain those lost FPS. It's worth a shot if you're struggling!

Thanks! I’ll check my disk space and see if that helps.
