I'm about to buy a new laptop, and I'm really interested in hacking and development. Since it's a fresh device with no data yet, I'm wondering if I should set up a dual boot system with Windows for my college work, AI, and web development, while using Linux for hacking and other projects. What do you all think?

If you're planning on using Linux mainly for hacking, dual booting can be a good choice, but have you considered using WSL instead? It's a less drastic option and might fit your needs without the hassle of rebooting. But if you want the full desktop experience in Linux, go for dual boot! Just know that a lot of people end up using Windows most of the time anyway, even after setting it up.

I need a lot of Windows for editing and VFX work with software like Blender and FL Studio, so that's why I'm leaning towards dual booting. WSL sounds cool, but I'm worried it won't cover everything I want.

I love Linux for web development! Plus, setting up a dual boot won't really hurt you aside from using some disk space. It's definitely worth it if you want to explore different tools and software available in Linux.
