Hey everyone! I'm looking for recommendations on AM5 motherboards under $200, specifically B850 or X870 models that work well with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. I've heard about some issues with compatibility between the CPU and certain motherboards, so I want to make sure I get something reliable. Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated!

Most of the major issues were addressed with firmware updates across various brands. While ASRock had more problems, they've released updates too. Just choose a motherboard with the features you need, and there shouldn’t be any major concerns now.
I just put together a build with the MSI B850 Tomahawk and the 9800X3D two days ago, and so far, everything's going smoothly. From what I've read, MSI boards tend to have fewer issues. Just keep in mind that I paid a bit over $200 for mine, but it’s close enough. I’d say it’s worth considering!
Check out the Gigabyte B850 Eagle WiFi 6E. It comes highly recommended and fits under your budget. You can find it easily on PCPartPicker. The combination of good features and stability makes it a solid choice for your build.
So you're saying the issues are pretty much resolved? I'm a bit nervous about dropping money on a motherboard when there have been so many problems with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Just trying to make sure I get a good deal!
