I'm looking to upgrade my PC because I'm currently experiencing issues with my RAM and I have an outdated CPU. Here's what I have right now: i7 8700, MSI B360 motherboard, 16GB of RAM, a 250GB M.2 SSD, a 2TB HDD, and an RTX 3070. I want to upgrade my case, power supply, motherboard, RAM, and SSD, but I'm not looking to replace the CPU. I do a bit of gaming and video editing and while my budget is around $650, I can stretch it a little if necessary. Any suggestions would be really helpful!

Check out this part list I found! It has an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X and some awesome components. The total comes to about $590. You'll get a great performance boost, especially with the 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Here's the full list:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X - $170
- Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-P - $130
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 - $83
- Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD - $58
- Case: Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L - $40
- PSU: 850W Fully Modular - $90
Make sure to compare prices, as they can vary!
Thank you for this! I’ll definitely take a closer look at these parts.
What BuildMaster23 suggested is solid! But keep in mind that the i7 is getting old, so if you're looking for longevity, a CPU upgrade will be essential down the road.
Definitely consider upgrading the CPU when you can! The i7-8700 is starting to age and may bottleneck any high-end GPUs.
Wow... almost a whole PC built for just under $600. Impressive. Just remember, if you wanted a new GPU, that would likely double your costs!
