Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a new monitor and could use your help. I'm specifically looking for a 1920x1080 IPS monitor that has a refresh rate of 160Hz or more, and I have a budget of around $175. I've done some research, but it's pretty overwhelming since there are so many options out there and I'm not super experienced with monitors. Also, I'd like your opinion on whether a 27" monitor is a good choice for 1080p resolution or if I should rather go for a smaller size to avoid pixel stretching. I'm using an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU and an RTX 5070 GPU, so I want to make sure I get something that works well with my setup.

I totally get where you're coming from—there are tons of monitors out there, and it can be a bit daunting. Personally, I recommend sticking with a **24" to 25" monitor** for 1080p. I’ve used both sizes, and on a 27", the pixels start to look a bit fuzzy. For your budget, check out the **AOC 24G2SP**. It's a fantastic 24" 1080p IPS monitor with a 165Hz refresh rate, really good colors, and decent build quality. The slight bump in refresh rate from the older model makes a noticeable difference. Another solid option is the **Gigabyte G24F 2**, also 24" with 165Hz—great for gaming with low input lag. If you find deals, the **MSI G2412** is worth looking at too. Just keep in mind that differences between refresh rates like 144Hz and 165Hz aren't as huge as you'd think; panel quality and brand trust are more important. Are you mainly gaming or using it for work too? That might also influence your choice.
Thanks for the awesome recommendations! I'm building my first PC mainly for gaming, but I'll use it for schoolwork as well until I can get a laptop. Your insights boost my confidence in this process.

Sounds like you've got a great start, just make sure to check the monitor specs closely!
