My HP Pavilion DV6 Suddenly Stopped Working After Changing Thermal Paste—Any Ideas?

Hey everyone, I really need some help. My HP Pavilion DV6 just randomly died after I changed the thermal paste. I suspect it might be the motherboard, possibly the GPU since that's a common issue with this model. Right now, when I plug it in, I only see a static light instead of the light turning off after a second as it normally does. The specs are a socket P Intel Pentium T430 and AMD graphics with 512MB of VRAM. Any thoughts on what might be wrong or how I can fix it?

This might sound a bit out there, but some people have had success putting their motherboard in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutes. It’s a bit of a last-ditch effort, but it’s worth considering if you’re looking for a fix! Just make sure to remove any components first, of course. Good luck!

I totally get your attachment to the device, even if it's almost 19 years old! Honestly, though, be cautious with that oven trick. It can sometimes work, but it could also cause more damage, especially if there's something else going on with the GPU. If it doesn't work, you might want to consider looking for a replacement or getting it looked at professionally.
