I have an old NVMe drive that stopped functioning about a year ago. I tried various methods to revive it, but today, to my surprise, I found it working again in the same slot. How is that possible? Can I actually use it now?

Get your important data off it immediately and then don’t use it again. It's like a ticking time bomb!
Have you checked it with a hard drive testing tool? Sometimes they can come back if there's a software issue or bad drivers. Just make sure to back up anything important ASAP!
I'd use it, but only as a game drive for stuff you can easily redownload. Just keep in mind it might die on you again—it’s like playing with fire!
Honestly, I wouldn’t risk using it. Just because it turned on doesn’t mean it’s reliable. It could fail again at any moment.
It might just be bad contacts or something. But I’d recommend you consider replacing it. Better safe than sorry!
Good point! It’s more like a temporary storage solution than anything else.
