I'm currently using a 9800X3D CPU and I'm trying to decide between an air cooler and an AIO cooler for optimal cooling. I know AIOs generally offer better cooling performance, but I'm really concerned about the potential risk of leaks. On the other hand, while air coolers are leak-proof, I worry they might not handle the heat from the 9800X3D effectively. What do you guys think is the best option here? Any advice would be really appreciated!

The 9800X3D doesn’t draw much power, typically under 80 watts when gaming. So, honestly, any decent cooler should be able to keep it cool without breaking a sweat.
A good dual tower air cooler, like the Thermalright Phantom Spirit, should be more than sufficient to cool your 9800X3D. Unless you're aiming for aesthetics, there's really no strong performance reason to go with an AIO, especially if you're not working with a tiny case. Stick with air cooling if you're concerned about leaks!
I've heard that AIOs need replacing every five years. While I'm not an expert, it seems that a quality air cooler is just as effective. Plus, many of them can look great if you choose the right one!
I definitely wouldn't want to deal with constant replacements or the risk of leaks.
I plan to use a big case and aesthetics aren't my priority. I just want to know if an air cooler can keep the 9800X3D cool enough for a demanding game like DCS.
