I just got my iPhone 16 Pro Max yesterday and after transferring everything, it worked fine for a bit. However, after leaving it alone for a few hours, I couldn't unlock it. Touching the screen to enter my passcode doesn't register at all, and Face ID isn't working either. Sometimes, when I repeatedly tap a number on the screen, it will recognize one digit after many attempts, but then it just says the password is incorrect. I've done a hard reset multiple times, but still no luck. I haven't added a screen protector yet, so that's not the issue. Also, there's this weird white box appearing around the clock that wasn't there before. Anyone know what could be going on?

I've heard of issues like this. It could be that Face ID isn't functioning properly, or the screen requires a reset to recalibrate. Since you can't unlock it, you may need to perform a factory reset using your computer. Just remember that a reset will erase all data, so it’s best to have a backup if possible!
It sounds like you might have accidentally enabled an accessibility feature by rapidly tapping the screen. That can interfere with how you interact with your phone. Unfortunately, if you can't get past the lock screen, it might be tricky to turn that setting off. Have you thought about connecting it to a computer to see if there's a way to access recovery options?
Is there a way to undo that accessibility setting without unlocking the phone?
That sounds like a last resort! I just wish there was a way to get into it without losing everything.
