What are some ways to deal with burnout at work?

Hey everyone, I'm currently working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) and while I enjoy my job most of the time, I often find myself feeling extremely frustrated. It seems like we're always waiting on other teams to do their part, and they tend to ignore our requests until we escalate the issues internally. On top of that, management isn't very supportive; they are hesitant to escalate genuine problems because they want to maintain a false sense of teamwork with other departments. Dealing with customers can also be really draining, especially when they escalate issues that aren't even ours to resolve. I'm looking for advice on how to handle this burnout and frustration. My seniors seem pretty jaded and don't care anymore, but I still want to stay invested in my work. Any tips or insights?

I suggest talking to a mental health professional. Sometimes that outside guidance can really help you figure out your next steps. It sounds like you’re in a thankless job that’s having a serious impact on your mood.

Your mental health should always come first. If the company doesn't value you, it might be time to reconsider your situation, like seeking help or even planning your exit.

Honestly, if you're feeling burnt out, finding a new job might be the best option. You don't have to stay in a toxic environment, and while the job hunt can be tough, every day spent not looking is another day wasted in a job that’s draining you.

I can relate to your situation. I was in a similar place and what really helped me was changing roles. I didn't realize how much the old job was affecting my well-being until I moved to a place with better management and a more supportive environment.

I’ve had moments where I had to disassociate from the workplace stress. It’s not the healthiest coping mechanism, but I get it. Maybe finding healthier outlets is crucial to balance things.
