Hey everyone! I've been waiting for the new GPUs from AMD and Nvidia to shake up the used market, but instead, prices seem to have gone up! Right now, my temporary RX 5700 XT is starting to show its age with the games I'm playing. I'd like to sell it while it still has some value, so I'm wondering what upgrade options I should consider. Here are the cards I'm looking at:
Nvidia options:
- 3070 for about 240-250 euros
- 2080 Ti for 250-260 euros
- 3080 (10GB) for around 320-350 euros
AMD options:
- RX 6700 XT for 220-250 euros
- RX 6800 for 290-320 euros
For new cards, there's the:
- Intel B580 priced around 250 euros
- RX 9060 XT (16GB) around 340-350 euros.
In Europe, it feels like the used GPU market hasn't changed in ages. Upgrading to a higher price point doesn't seem to yield much better value, and new GPUs are jumping straight to the 500 euro mark. I primarily play racing games, VR, MMOs, and some gacha games on a 1440p 165Hz monitor, so I'd love to get more than 60fps in recent titles.
Lastly, I'm curious whether RDNA2 is worth it in 2025, or if I should stick with Nvidia's lower VRAM cards for a few percent better performance with DLSS and ray tracing features. The RX 9060 XT is tempting, but I'm wary of its limited video outputs and narrow memory bus—those have aged poorly in my experience. The B580 is an interesting option, too, as it's affordable and seems to perform similarly to the RX 6700 XT, but I'm unsure how it handles VR and pairs with my R7 3700X. If anyone knows about better deals on eBay or other sites, I'd love to hear it!

If you're aiming for 1440p gaming, the RX 9060 XT with 16GB is your best bet. It offers great value in today's market, especially for your needs.
I’d personally recommend the RX 6800; it’s comparable to the RX 9060 XT, providing great raw performance for 1440p gaming without the same caveats.
If you don’t need cutting-edge graphics, a used 3070 for around 220 euros could be an excellent choice. It performs well for 1440p and avoids issues some newer cards have with VR.
Keep an eye out for the RX 6750 XT; it often goes for close to the RX 6700 XT’s price. Might give you some extra performance for a similar cost.
The Intel B580 could be a solid choice, but make sure you have a good CPU to get the most from it. I’ve had a good experience with it, but it might need a better CPU to shine.
Yeah, I think it would pair well with your 3700X, but check on its performance in VR before committing.
Definitely agree! Plus, it should handle the FPS you’re looking for easily.
