Can I Set Up My PC Without a Graphics Card?

I'm building my first custom PC and have everything but the graphics card. I'm using a Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, so I'm looking for a graphics card that matches in price or performs better. My question is, can I start setting everything up and perform downloads without the graphics card for a couple of weeks? Also, if you have any AMD graphics card recommendations, I'd appreciate it!

You can set everything up, but I’d advise against heavy gaming for the time being. If you're planning to game, think about what’s in your budget for graphics cards when you do buy!

Running without an external GPU is totally doable! The integrated GPU in your CPU is enough for general use. Just keep in mind that performance on graphics-intensive games will be lacking for now. You’re on the right track asking for AMD recommendations, though, since they tend to pair well with Ryzen CPUs.

You can absolutely run your PC without a dedicated graphics card using the integrated graphics. Just make sure to connect your monitor to the motherboard's video output. I recommend getting a graphics card that fits your budget and gaming needs, like the AMD 9000 series if you're looking for something decent!

Two weeks is quite a long time for setup - you could get the card sooner unless you're waiting for prices to drop!

Yes, you can definitely use the integrated graphics from your Ryzen 7 7800X3D. It won't be optimal for gaming or demanding tasks, but you can handle basic setup and downloads just fine. For gaming, titles like CS:GO or Minecraft will run okay, but don't expect high performance with more demanding games. As for AMD graphics cards, it really depends on your budget and what resolution you’re looking to play at. The new 9000 series might be worth checking out!

I'd also suggest waiting if you can, as graphics card prices are expected to stabilize soon. It's good to be patient!

Definitely start your setup without the graphics card! Your Ryzen CPU will manage basic tasks pretty well. And as for an AMD card, consider how much you're willing to spend and what kind of performance you want first!
