Will My 9800X3D Use Integrated Graphics Automatically?

I'm planning to build a system with an AMD 9800X3D CPU and an Asus TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS motherboard. If I connect my monitor to the motherboard's HDMI port, will the system automatically use the CPU's integrated graphics for video output, or do I need to tweak any BIOS settings first? Also, if I need to adjust any settings, how would I do this without a dedicated GPU?

Yes, if you don't have a dedicated GPU installed, it should automatically use the integrated graphics. But if a dedicated GPU is present, you'll need to enable the iGPU in BIOS manually.

In my experience, the dedicated graphics card usually takes priority and might disable the iGPU by default. But if you're not using a GPU, you should be fine and it will automatically use the iGPU.

It should be automatic, no worries there!

The BIOS has a setting for video output priority. It typically checks for a dedicated graphics card first, and if it doesn't find one, it will switch to the iGPU. So if you connect your monitor to the HDMI port on the motherboard and have no dedicated GPU, it should default to the CPU's integrated graphics without you needing to do anything extra. If you do add a dedicated GPU later, remember you'll need to change that setting in the BIOS to use the iGPU.

Thanks for clarifying! So just to confirm, without a dedicated GPU, it will automatically use the iGPU, right?

Can you connect a monitor to both the iGPU and a dedicated GPU? How does Windows manage which one is active?
