Hey everyone! I'm hoping to get some advice or hear from anyone who has faced a similar issue. My iPad Pro 11" (4th Gen, 2022 model) suddenly stopped detecting my Apple Pencil 2 last week. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps I could think of — like unpairing, resetting, and even upgrading to the latest beta version of iPadOS and then rolling back. Unfortunately, nothing has worked. The folks at the Genius Bar confirmed that my Apple Pencil is functioning well, but they couldn't get any other Apple Pencils to pair either. Everything seems perfect with my iPad, as there's no visible damage, but they suspect there's a hardware issue with the Pencil detection module. They quoted a hefty repair cost for a full replacement, or a much lower trade-in offer, which doesn't really help since I'd be left with a Pencil 2 that I can't use. My iPad is just 1.5 years old, and it's frustrating that this happened right after the warranty expired. I've even taken my case up with Executive Relations, but their response has been pretty much the same. I'm also going through a tough time caring for my mom's health, and this iPad has been essential for me. Has anyone experienced this problem before? Did Apple do anything for you? Any suggestions on how I can get them to take another look at this? Thanks a lot for your help!

It sounds like you've really tried everything. Unfortunately, being out of warranty does complicate things. Have you thought about reaching out to Apple via social media? They sometimes respond more personally there, which could help your case.
That's a smart idea! I've seen a lot of people get better responses that way. It might be worth a shot, especially since you have such a good case with your experience.
