Is My CPU Cooler Secured Properly? Need Some Help!

I'm trying to replace the thermal paste on my CPU and I think I've run into a bit of a problem. After cleaning off the old thermal paste from both the CPU and the cooler, I was screwing on the cooler when it lifted and broke the thermal seal. Now I'm on round two of applying it. I used ChatGPT to check if everything was okay, but it mentioned that the arm wasn't down enough, and I'm not entirely sure about that. It feels like it won't budge, but I don't want to force it and cause damage. I'm really new to PC building, so I'd appreciate any tips or advice! Thanks!

ChatGPT can sometimes misjudge the tiny details in setups like this, so it’s best not to rely on it for checking physical components. Trust your instincts and check that everything feels stable before moving on, and you should be alright!

From the image you posted, everything looks fine. Just double-check that the arm is fully down and click it into place if needed. If it feels secure, you should be set!

Thank you so much! That really eases my mind.

Honestly, ChatGPT isn’t the best for checking CPU mounts. Focus on making sure the cooler is snug but don’t force it. If it seems secure, you should be good to go! It’s normal for it to feel a bit rigid.

Haha, I figured! Just wanted to get a human's perspective.
