How Can I Completely Delete My Previous Windows Installation?

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind here. I recently updated my software on my Asus Windows 11 and attempted to delete the "Previous Windows Installation" files through the Temporary Files section. Unfortunately, I accidentally interrupted the deletion process. I've been trying to find the Windows.old folder again or access the Previous Windows Installation option in Disk Cleanup, but no luck so far. I only have 23GB of storage left when I should have freed up more space—about 30GB total if I could complete the deletion. Any advice on how to finish deleting that pesky "Previous Windows Installation"? I really appreciate your help!

If you canceled the deletion, you might want to try enabling "show hidden" and "show protected OS files" to look for the windows.old folder on your C drive. But keep in mind that Disk Cleanup does a bit more than just that. Since your storage is pretty low, you might have to keep an eye on other files as well. Be sure to check the "clean up system files" option in Disk Cleanup — that could help free up some additional space. You might also want to search online for other locations that Disk Cleanup might not touch.

If you're okay with losing any existing data on the drive, a fresh wipe could be your simplest solution. Just remember that this will erase everything! However, if you still want to retain some files, make sure you’re clear about what will happen after deleting the previous installation. You don’t want to accidentally delete something important.
