I just sold my Ryzen 5 1600 and I'm waiting for my new Ryzen 5 2600 to arrive. Since I'm upgrading, should I update the BIOS on my MSI B450M Pro VDH Max motherboard?

It's always a good practice to check for BIOS updates, though. Even if it works now, there might be performance improvements or fixes that come with newer BIOS versions. Just make sure you do it safely to avoid any issues.
You shouldn't need to update the BIOS for the Ryzen 5 2600 since it should be compatible with your motherboard. Most B450 boards support it right out of the box. Just double-check the version on your motherboard, but you should be good to go!
