Hey everyone! I've recently gotten back into gaming on my old PC, but I'm finding that modern games aren't running well at all. I'm considering just upgrading my GPU to improve performance, but I'm curious if that alone will make a difference or if my CPU (which is a Ryzen 5 2600) and other parts could also be bottlenecking my performance. My current specs are:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
- GPU: GTX 1060
- RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
- Motherboard: B350 Tomahawk
I'm eyeing the RTX 5060 priced at around €340, but the 5060 Ti with 16GB is hitting over €480, which is a bit more than I'd like to spend. I don't game a whole lot, so I'm not under any pressure to upgrade immediately. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

You might find that your CPU will hold you back a bit. I'd suggest at least updating your BIOS and considering a Ryzen 5 5600 upgrade if you go for a new GPU.
Since you're on PCIe 3.0, look out for GPUs with 16 PCIe lanes like the budget-friendly RTX 3060. Anything like the 5060 might not perform at its peak if you don't have the right lanes. Just make sure to check some benchmarks before deciding!
It's a good idea to monitor the usage of both your CPU and GPU. If your GPU is running at 99% during gaming, then upgrading it could boost performance. But if it's under 90%, it might be time to look into a CPU upgrade instead, or even consider doing both if it makes sense for you.
That's a good way to analyze it! I might check out how my current setup is performing before jumping into upgrades.
