Has anyone recently migrated their setup from VMware to Nutanix? I have a small environment that I'm planning to transition soon and would appreciate any advice or things I should be mindful of during the process.

I’m currently in the midst of migrating about 400 VMs from VMware to Nutanix. So far, it's going mostly well, but if you have any older OSs (like 2008 32-bit), be prepared that they might not move over without issues. Also, ensure your networking hardware is up to par.
I migrated over 600 VMs across two clusters and it took about five months. Just make sure you plan thoroughly before starting. The setup can be straightforward, but it helps to do some prep work!
If you're considering this move, don't forget about Nutanix Move; it can handle a lot of the migration work for you. It was a game-changer for my migration, making things much easier and less stressful. You also might want to check out the Nutanix community for more insights since that's where a lot of experienced users hang out.
I definitely agree! Nutanix Move made everything smoother for us too.
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll look into Nutanix community forums.
I've had a great experience with Nutanix in the past—excellent support. Sure, they're not the cheapest option, but if you run into any issues, they're always willing to help out, even for older setups. Just be aware of certain VMs that might not work, like specific phone servers.
That’s reassuring! Glad to hear you had a good time with their support.
Yeah, I've heard their support can be hit-or-miss depending on your setup.
Wow, five months! I’ll keep that timeline in mind, thanks!
