I'm in the process of building a new gaming PC and haven't been following the latest trends in hardware for a while. From what I've gathered, the AMD 9800X3D is considered better for gaming compared to the 9950X. Usually, I'd go right for the 9800X3D since it's often cheaper and delivers better performance. However, there's a 33% discount on the 9950X right now, bringing it down to $434 from the usual $650, while the 9800X3D is sitting at $472. This makes the 9950X about 10% cheaper than the 9800X3D at the moment. My main question is: how much better is the 9800X3D for gaming? Is that extra performance worth the 9% price difference?

The 9800X3D is definitely the way to go—it's nearly 30% better for gaming overall. The difference can depend on the game and your GPU, but for gaming purposes, it really outshines the 9950X.
Thanks! If it's around 30%, I can definitely see why the 9800X3D is the smart choice. That $200 discount on the 9950X caught my eye, but I think I'll stick with the 9800X3D.
