I just ordered a new 1440p monitor, but I'm currently using an older 6600 XT that I picked up for a great price years ago. I've noticed that meaningful upgrades seem to cost about five times what I originally paid. I've heard that for 1440p gaming, I might need more than 8 GB of VRAM. I'm looking for advice on whether it's worth it to upgrade now and what GPU options would be great for this setup. Any recommendations would be super helpful! Thanks!

For good value at entry-level 1440p, I'd say the 9060 XT is your best bet. Alternatively, keep an eye on the used market for something like a 3070 or a 6700 XT if you can find them cheaper than the 9060. Enjoy upgrading your rig!
If you're aiming for 1440p, knowing your refresh rate is key! Are you looking at 60Hz or 144Hz? Knowing your budget and the rest of your setup would also help. I'd recommend checking pcpartpicker.com to get a better sense of compatibility and pricing.
I'm going for 240Hz, and my budget is flexible—whatever it takes for a solid value.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm looking into those options since I'm not keen on the new 5070/9070 series with their 12-pin issues.
