Can I Turn a Backup USB into a Live USB Without Losing Storage?

I've gotten pretty good at creating ISO images on USB drives. However, I just made a backup USB where I stored a list of the AUR packages I need, along with my memes folder and other files. I'm curious if I can partition it using GParted to create a live USB while still keeping its regular USB stick functionality. I just want to avoid the hassle of needing two USB drives every time I mess something up on Linux!

You should definitely check out Ventoy for this! It's a great tool that allows you to create a multi-boot USB drive. You can actually use it to make your USB act as a normal storage device as well, so you don't have to worry about losing your files in the process.

That's great to hear about Ventoy! But does it reduce the available storage on the USB? I've had issues where putting an ISO onto a USB would limit the remaining storage space.
