I'm gearing up to order parts for a new build and I'm looking for recommendations on motherboards that work well with the 9800X3D processor. What are the best options out there right now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I just pulled the trigger on a GIGABYTE B850 AORUS Elite for my 9800X3D and 5090 setup. It looks promising!

That’s awesome! I've heard great things about that mobo!

Did you go with a GIGABYTE 5090 for that build?

You might want to consider these options:
- MSI MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI (great value)
- MSI MPG X870E CARBON WIFI (high-end, can't really go higher than this)
- For a white build, look into MSI MPG X870E EDGE TI WIFI (high-end)
- GIGABYTE X870 AORUS STEALTH ICE (best aesthetics)

Honestly, I wouldn’t trust boards from other brands like Asus or NZXT—they’ve got a reputation for scamming customers, and ASRock has had issues with the 9800X3D. Stick with these for peace of mind!

Just get a motherboard from the same brand as your GPU for better compatibility. It'll save you some headaches down the line!

I'd steer clear of ASRock's x870 models for the 9800X3D. They've had issues in the past, even if they say they've fixed them. Better options are out there that offer similar features without the risk.

Definitely agree! It’s not worth the trouble to take such risks.

For this CPU, almost any board with the right features should work. I'd suggest going for a midrange B850 or B650 board from the ASRock Riptide or MSI MAG series. I built a system with a 7800X3D on an Asus Tuf B650, and while it's quick, that memory training on boot can be a bit annoying for users.

I've been using an ASRock Nova 870E with my 9800X3D and a 4090. It's been a solid choice for me with no issues so far!
