Hey everyone, I'm considering whether to buy a contact frame for my 7800X3D CPU. It's just $10, but I'm not sure if it's really worth it or if it's more of a gimmick. Has anyone found it to be beneficial, or should I skip it?

Using a contact frame makes cleaning thermal paste a bit easier and it looks nice too. I personally went for a different bracket that has a silicone gasket to help with cleanup. But for performance, the benefits are pretty minimal; it was originally designed to help longer Intel CPUs that had pressure issues, so anything beyond looks isn't too significant.
It's only $10, so if you're curious, go ahead and get one. I picked it up, and while it's not really necessary, it's not a big expense either. It could be a fun addition!
You definitely don't need it! The 7800X3D is super easy to cool as it is. Just focus on getting a good cooler instead of this frame unless you're really worried about temps.
