Looking to Upgrade My CPU for Better FPS in Rust

Hey everyone, I'm currently using an i5 13400F with an RTX 4060, and I'm looking to boost my gaming performance, especially in Rust, which can be very CPU-intensive. I'm curious if there's a CPU upgrade that could significantly improve my FPS, or if I'm just hitting the limits of my GPU. Any suggestions?

Consider the GPU too, it might be the root of your problem. If you're not getting the FPS you want, it might be worth focusing on a GPU upgrade rather than a CPU one for now.

Honestly, it sounds like your CPU isn't the main bottleneck here. A lot of players find that the RTX 4060 can struggle with demanding titles like Rust, especially on high settings. Have you tried adjusting your graphics settings, maybe lowering them for better performance? That could help you out without any upgrades.

For sure! I've had to tweak my settings in Rust too. Honestly, you might consider trying a mix of medium and high settings to see what works best for your setup.

Also, remember that playing on servers with lots of people or large bases can be taxing on your CPU. Sometimes it's all about the game setup!

If you're looking at CPU options, AMD's x3d CPUs are great for gaming, but they can be pricey. Also, check that your RAM is set to XMP in the BIOS, and ensure it's seated in the right slots for optimal performance. It could make a difference!

Before you jump into a CPU upgrade, make sure to optimize your current setup! Upgrading can be costly, and with your i5 and 4060, you might just need better settings rather than hardware.
