I'm upgrading my setup after using a 10-year-old i5-4590 CPU running at 3.30GHz. I'm ready to invest around $500 to $700 for both a CPU and a motherboard. While I want to get a decent upgrade, I don't need anything too high-end since my primary use will be work and some light gaming. I'm particularly interested in trying out AMD processors, like the 7700X or 7800X3D. Since I plan to have a separate GPU, I believe I don't need the integrated graphics from the 7800X3D. Is that correct? Also, if I go for the 7700X or another good value option, could you recommend a motherboard to pair with it?

What other programs do you usually use aside from gaming? Also, do you already have DDR5 RAM, or would that need to fit into your budget? Don't forget about a cooler; you'll probably need one unless you want to run on stock cooling!
I have 16GB of DDR3 RAM, so I guess I’ll need to budget for some DDR5 as well. And I don't own a cooler, so that's something to consider too!
