I was defragmenting the hard drive on my slow Windows 10 laptop when the power went out. I'm worried it won't finish before the battery dies, and I noticed there's no option to pause or cancel the process. Should I just close the drive optimization window? What would be the best move here?

You can definitely close the drive optimization window. It should be fine, and you can resume it later if you need to. Just make sure to check your hard drive's health afterward.
Thanks, I closed it.
