Hey everyone! I'm about to start a two-year nursing program and I currently have a MacBook from 2019, which I got from a scholarship. Lately, it's been really sluggish and the battery can't hold a charge well. I need a dependable laptop for my studies, so I'm wondering if there's a way to speed it up or maybe just replace the battery. Money is tight, and I really want to avoid buying a new one if I can help it, but sometimes it just shuts off unexpectedly. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Don't forget to back up all your important files, just in case! If your MacBook does die, you wouldn't want to lose everything. You can store your stuff in the cloud or on an external drive.
I'm still using my laptop from late 2018 without any issues. Unless your current one is completely broken, don't rush to replace it.
Honestly, you’ll know it’s time to get a new laptop when your current one won't turn on anymore. But before that happens, consider upgrading the battery or the drive. These fixes can make a huge difference! Unfortunately, newer MacBooks aren’t easy to repair yourself, so be cautious about getting repairs done at Apple stores. If you’re looking for alternatives, Surface Pros are good options if you’re open to Windows.
