I've recently discovered Xlibre, which is a fork of the traditional X11 system. I'm currently using CachyOS with Openbox and I'm curious about whether making the switch to Xlibre is possible or even advisable. What are your thoughts on migrating to this newer display server?

In my opinion, if you have to ask if it's a good idea to migrate, it's probably best not to. This isn't a small task, and Xlibre might not be worth the effort.
I saw Xlibre in the AUR, but relying on AUR for something so crucial can be risky. I wouldn't take that leap without considering the potential issues.
The main reason to try out Xlibre right now is if you're interested in testing or developing for the future. The standard X.org is still fully functional, and honestly, I wouldn't rush into using Xlibre for daily tasks just yet.
Honestly, I think switching to Xlibre is a waste of time right now. Just stick with what works until there's a stronger reason to change.
