Hey folks, I'm considering upgrading my PC and I'm trying to find the most cost-effective option. I'm thinking about adding a second Gigabyte 3070 Aorus to my setup, but would need a beefier PSU with an extra PCI-E lane. My main concern is whether my Ryzen 7 5800X will bottleneck the second graphics card. I remember getting a good deal on my first 3070, and while I believe my setup should handle games like GTA V at 4K high settings, I experience some stuttering in wildlife areas. I'm looking for advice on whether this upgrade is a good idea for better gaming performance without breaking the bank. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Honestly, going for dual GPUs isn't really the best move nowadays. Multi-GPU setups for gaming have been pretty much dead for a while, and you’ll struggle with support since SLI isn’t a thing anymore. You're better off focusing on a single, powerful GPU upgrade instead. Especially with how games are optimized now, you won't see the performance boosts you might expect from adding another 3070. Just my two cents!
Totally agree, but I've heard some new scaling techniques are making older multi-GPU setups have a bit of a comeback.
If gaming is your goal, combining two 3070s isn’t really feasible. Even if it technically worked, you'd be looking at a pretty glitchy experience. Multi-GPU setups were phased out for a reason; they just don't deliver the performance boost that most people hope for. I'd recommend going for a stronger single GPU instead. Maybe look into the next generation offerings that can handle 4K smoother?
Rip, what would you suggest for an upgrade?
