How to Fix My Second Monitor That Won’t Connect?

I recently bought a second monitor to expand my workspace, but I'm having trouble getting it to work. The monitor came with a DisplayPort (DP) cable, but when I connect it to my graphics card, it shows a "No Signal" message. I've tried another DP cable, but that didn't help either. I only have one HDMI port on my GPU, along with three DP ports, which complicates things. This issue has been around for a while, even back when I first built this PC three years ago. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? I'm starting to worry that I've wasted my money on this new monitor!

First off, have you checked if the new monitor works on its own? I mean, does it power up and display something when you connect it with an HDMI cable? If it does, that might mean the problem could be with your graphics card. Also, make sure your drivers are up to date; that's a common issue sometimes!

Yeah, it powers up fine, but when I try connecting it with the DP cable, that's when it doesn't show anything. My drivers are up to date too.

If your PC had issues in the past, like actually exploding, could the graphics card have been damaged? Just a thought!

Have you tried going to your desktop settings? Right-click the desktop, and select 'Display settings.' Check if both monitors are recognized there. If you're only seeing one screen, try hitting 'Detect' to see if it finds the other monitor.

I did that, and it only shows one monitor. When I click 'Detect,' it still says 'No Signal'.
