I'm in search of a good quality computer hub that doesn't use USB-C, as my computer's USB-C port is broken. I'm ideally looking for a hub with either USB or HDMI ports to support a dual monitor setup. Are there any recommendations for a solid option that meets these needs?

Finding a good HDMI hub can be tricky because USB-A typically doesn't support video like USB-C does. You might want to look into USB-A DisplayLink hubs, but keep in mind they can be a bit pricey in terms of performance. For basic needs, a standard USB-A hub like the ones from UGreen might be sufficient for your setup.
If you've got USB-A ports that meet the specs, you can use a C to A adapter with many hubs. Some of the older Lenovo docks came with this handy feature. Just ensure your USB ports are at least USB 3.0; you might run into performance issues otherwise.
One thing to keep in mind is that USB-A doesn’t natively support video, which complicates things a bit. Devices providing video output over USB-A can act like their own display devices, may need drivers, and typically won’t perform as well as a direct connection. Have you considered using a USB-C dock with DisplayLink? It can work with a USB-A adapter. I've got the J5-Create JUD380, and I've found it on eBay for about $20-30. It works great with dual monitors and has extra USB ports and Ethernet. It's been a lifesaver for me!
