I recently got a second-hand laptop and I've been using it without any issues for about three months. However, after I installed a Windows update, the laptop locked me out following the restart. I'm really worried about this situation. Is there a way to fix it, or am I stuck? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I've also attached an image showing the lockout message.

Make sure your keyboard isn’t causing issues. Sometimes, the CAPSLOCK or NUMLOCK is enabled, which can mess with your login. Double-check that before jumping to conclusions!
It might be that you accidentally bought a laptop that was stolen. Double-check the laptop’s history, especially if it was a good deal. If it’s locked due to its previous owner, you may have bigger issues than just the update.
I saw the lockout message in the image you posted, and it seems pretty clear. If it states what you need to do, follow those instructions. But if it’s as bad as it sounds, you might be in a tough spot with no way back in.
Thanks for the info! I really hope it’s not as serious as it sounds. I’ll check that message again.
