Need Help Building a PC After a Decade – Just Ordered a Ryzen 7600X!

Hey everyone! I just got a Ryzen 7600X for my first PC build in nearly 20 years. Last time I assembled a rig, it was mainly to play Oblivion on a laptop that was struggling with Morrowind, so this feels like a big step up from those days! My budget is tight, under $1000 total (this includes the CPU, which I got for $170), and I'll also need a good monitor and a mechanical keyboard.

I'm hoping for some ideas on building a solid system without breaking the bank. I'm also really interested in minimalist or subtle case designs since I've been getting into woodcrafting and might want to build a custom case. Liquid cooling is something I've dreamed about since childhood, but I'm open to keeping things simple too.

I plan to run Linux on this setup, mainly to enjoy Morrowind again, and I'd love your recommendations on what graphics card to snag that works with my budget. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hey! You're diving back into the PC building world at an exciting time! If you can stretch your budget a little, around $1000 would get you a great 1080p gaming rig. Here's a build link you might check out: [PCPartPicker Build](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/77mzLc).

Just keep in mind that the monitor and keyboard will eat into your budget, but those can sometimes be found at decent prices if you shop around. Good luck with the build!

Thanks for the suggestion! I guess we could consider the monitor and keyboard separately. Everything is going to feel like a huge upgrade for me, so I'm really looking forward to this. Appreciate the starting point!
