What’s the Best Way to Recalibrate My Laptop Battery?

Hey everyone! I've got an HP Laptop (model 15-dy2703dx) running Windows 11, and it seems to be stuck at 99% charge. I'm looking to recalibrate the battery, but I'm a bit confused about the process. I know the basic idea is to fully charge and then drain the battery, but should I let it drain all the way to 0%? Some sources suggest letting the laptop shut down when it hits 0%, while others recommend setting it to hibernate at 5%, meaning it wouldn't fully drain. What's the best method here? Thanks for your help!

Honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about getting that last 1% back. It could just be a firmware issue with HP. If the light on your laptop stays orange, it might not actually be charging all the way up. In some cases, you don’t need to recalibrate at all; it’s just a bug in their system. Just keep an eye on it!

It seems like the 99% issue is pretty common with HP laptops. Some people say forcing a full drain isn't great for battery life, so you might want to be careful with that. Try resetting your battery settings instead. You could also check for firmware updates; they sometimes fix bugs like this. No need to stress about the full drain if you aren't comfortable with it!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll look into firmware updates. I just want to make sure my battery lasts longer with regular use.
