I'm on Linux Mint and need a good screenshot tool with a few specific features. I want to be able to select a region of the screen, have it freeze for easier selection, set a custom keybind like Alt + #, and make sure it can copy the screenshot directly to the clipboard. Any recommendations?

Smokey here! Just an FYI, it's always helpful to mention your distro and hardware specifics in technical queries. Anyway, I heard Spectacle from KDE Plasma is solid, though I’m not sure how well it works outside of KDE.
The keybinding is handled by your desktop environment, not the screenshot tool itself. Most tools should meet your needs though; I personally use scrot.
If you just want to take a screenshot of a specific area, try using Shift + PrtScn. It lets you select the area, although it doesn’t really freeze the screen like some other tools.
I vote for Flameshot again! It's user-friendly. Just set a keyboard shortcut with the command 'flameshot -s' to make it work.
Check out Flameshot! It's great for taking screenshots, and you can easily configure the shortcuts to your liking.
