Hey everyone! I'm upgrading my gaming rig, but I can only change my RAM right now. Currently, I have 16GB of DDR4 RAM (2x8GB 3600Hz CL32 from G.Skill). My other components include a Ryzen 7 9700X CPU and a 5070 Ti GPU. I'm really keen on pushing my GPU to its limits, especially with ray tracing. So, how much will the RAM affect my gaming performance? Thanks in advance for your input! Cheers!

You won’t be able to run DDR4 RAM on an AM5 motherboard, which is needed for the Ryzen 7 9700X. If you're using DDR4 with that CPU, you're definitely going to run into compatibility issues. If you need to game on this rig, you'll have to invest in a new RAM kit, since DDR5 is required.
As others have said, DDR4 won’t work with AM5 CPUs like the 9700X. If you need good performance, it’s best to save up for a proper DDR5 RAM setup. You could get away with 16GB for simple gaming, but it really depends on the titles you’re playing. For a more intensive game, you might see some slowdowns.
Exactly! If you're playing something like Civ 7, you might run into issues. Best to plan for something more robust.
